Bicester Tn 2, Kidlington 1

KYLE McCoy scored twice as lowly Bicester Town shocked Kidlington in the Premier Division on Saturday.

On a pudding of a pitch, the game was a disjointed affair, but Bicester went in front just before half-time when McCoy stole the ball from Kidlington skipper Danny Leggett before striking well past Tom McNamara in the Kidlington goal.

A minute after the break, Kidlington’s Mark Flanagan appeared to be brought down from behind, but the penalty appeals were waved away.

Just before the hour, Jimmy Deabill rose to powerfully head home a Flanagan cross to level the scores.

Bicester’s Michael Spaull escaped with only a yellow card for a two-footed lunge, and after this, Kidlington seemed to lose their way.

Ben Willoughby upended Rob Johnson in the box and was sent off for a second yellow card, and McCoy slotted hom the resulting penalty to secure the points.

Wantage Tn 2, Old Woodstock Tn 2

WANTAGE keeper Rob Durrant saved a last-minute penalty as his side secured a thrilling draw at Alfredian Park.

Wantage were trailing with a minute left, before skipper Gary Swann headed home the equaliser.

But Swann then turned villain when conceding the penalty.

Ben Thomas took the spot-kick, but Durrant saved well to ensure a share of the points.

Rhys Denton fired Woodstock in front when he slipped past the Wantage defence to drive past Durrant.

Wantage drew level when Gavin Jones’s cross was spilt by Woodstock keeper Dan Smith and Richie Claydon drove home the rebound.

Tony Booker restored Woodstock’s lead with a 30-yard screamer, before the late drama.

Hook Norton 2, Abingdon Town 3

ABINGDON had to work hard for a slender victory at struggling Hook Norton.

Lance Williams put Abingdon in front with a strike from eight yards, before Stuart Douglas made it 2-0 just before the break.

Pete Moulder pulled a goal back for Hooky shortly after the break, but Alex Mott restored Abingdon’s two-goal advantage.

There was still time for Moulder to score again to reduce the arrears, but Abingdon held on.

Witney Utd 0, Ascot Utd 0

WITNEY United failed to break down a resolute Ascot United at the Polythene UK Stadium.

It was the first time they had failed to score in a game since October.

Witney’s best two chances fell to Andrew Younie, who stood on the ball as he shaped to shoot and Anaclet Odhiambo, who headed over from four yards.

Ascot’s one effort was a header by Chris Page in the dying seconds, which was beaten away by Witney keeper Paul Tassell.
