Launton Spts 1, Headington Amateurs 4

A HAT-trick from Luke Cuff saw Headington to a convincing victory in Division 1 West – their first win in 2010.

Neil Lockhart netted from the spot early on, before Cuff scored his first a minute later.

Cuff had a simple finish midway through the half to make it 3-0.

The second half was a stodgy affair as both teams became bogged down in a midfield battle, but basement boys Launton were rewarded for their effort when Dan Sweeney pulled a goal back on 78 minutes.

However, Headington restored their three-goal lead two minutes from time when Cuff completed his treble to wrap up victory.

Clanfield 2, Trowbridge Tn 2

TEN-man Clanfield hit back for a point with a goal four minutes from time from youngster Karl Dickinson.

The west Oxfordshire side had to play the last 30 minutes a man short after Adam Little was sent off for a second bookable offence.

Dan Crease put the visitors in front, but Clanfield pulled level courtesy of a spectacular own goal.

Good work by Eddie Everett saw Steve Olphert turn the ball past the keeper and as it rolled towards the net, Trowbridge defender Darren Lewis rifled his attempted clearance in to the top corner!

Little, who had been caution in the first half, was dismissed by referee Adam Bayliss for a second booking after the break, before Trowbridge went back in front through Ali Jaffari after Clanfield keeper Chris Brain had brilliantly saved his first effort.

But the home side weren’t to be denied their point as Dickinson headed powerfully home four minutes from time to seal a deserved share of the spoils.

Cirencester Utd 2, Letcombe 4

LETCOMBE produced one of their worst performances of the season, but still had too much for lowly Cirencester United.

The home side, who have won only one game all season went in front when Paul Patel netted, before Adam Pendell equalised and Pete Horswell gave Letcombe the lead on the stroke of half-time.

Despite strong words from boss Alan Gifford at half-time, Dan Cooper equalised five minutes after the break.

But Pendell restored Letcombe’s lead from the penalty spot, before Horswell added a fourth in the last minute to give the result a flattering look.
