Oxford United manager Chris Wilder will ring the changes for today’s FA Carlsberg Trophy – but new signing Ashley Cain will have to wait for his chance to shine.

Wilder is urging his team to be clinical in both boxes as they bid for a place in the last four – but believes those players that come into the side will be very hungry to do well, as the team bid to keep their Wembley dream alive.

Among those who could return are goalkeeper Billy Turley, centre half Mark Creighton, striker Franny Green and midfielders Adam Chapman and Jamie Cook.

Already guaranteed a return is left back Kevin Sandwith, because Anthony Tonkin is cup-tied.

United yesterday signed 19-year-old winger Cain on an emergency loan from Coventry, effectively to replace Potter, but he has only just met his new teammates so the best he can hope for is a place on the bench.

Dannie Bulman is a doubt after injuring his back in Tuesday’s 1-0 win over Rushden, while fellow midfielders Adam Murray and Alfie Potter are out through injury.

Kidderminster have had the Indian sign over Oxford in the league this season, winning one and drawing 0-0 at the Kassam Stadium a fortnight ago.

But Wilder believes his team are very capable of inflicting a first defeat on Harriers since Steve Burr took charge – if they are efficient in both penalty areas.

“We’d love to play lovely football through the middle of the park, but now, at the business end of the season, it’s what happens in both boxes,” he said.

“If you’re nice and solid in your own box and clinical at the other end, you can go far.

“We were pretty solid when we played Kidderminster at home, even though they had some good attacking players, and we weren’t clinical enough at the other end.

“Whoever comes in, whether it’s Rhys, or Jake, or Kev, or Mark Creighton, or Adam Chapman . . . they’ve all won games for us this season, so I’ve got no qualms about changing the team around.”

Kidderminster are expected to give debuts to goalkeeper Ross Atkins, signed on loan from Derby County, and striker James Lawrie, is on loan from Port Vale.
