Pete Fenn (+50) gave Ashton a good start when he thumped Norman Woodcock (+70) 150-70.
Mike Chapman (+70) levelled by overwhelming John Street (+50) 150-108.
The decider saw Paul Robinson (-60) hit breaks of 41 and 29 to squeeze past Terry Chambers (scratch) 200-196.
Defending champions Riley A suffered a third straight defeat, this time at the hands of Cowley Con Club A.
Keith Pearce gave Cowley the lead with a 200-152 win over Malcolm Bough.
Matthew Challen levelled with a 200-170 victory over Terry Cook.
The decider between Arthur Coakley and Alan Copelin, both on equal handicaps, saw Coakley run out 150-121 victor.
