Simon Launder smashed an excellent 69 as Banbury A beat their clubmates by one run in a thrilling start to their Division 1 Banbury Indoor League campaign.

Batting first, Launder helped Banbury A to 112 all out.

Lloyd Sabin (26no) and Ed Phillips (25) then got Banbury close, but they were bowled out for 111.

Great & Little Tew got their campaign off to a flier as they beat Byfield by 38 runs.

Tew rattled up a huge 131-1 from their ten overs, Harry Smith scoring with 28 not out and Dave Powles 27 not out.

In reply, Byfield never got close, despite an unbeaten 25 from Billy Adkins.

Mike Darby took 2-24 as Byfield were held to 93-3.

Banbury Twenty won a low-scoring affair against Hook Norton by four wickets.

Oxfordshire veteran Keith Arnold took 2-18 as Hooky were shot out for 64, before Dave Clarke (19no) and Arnold (14no) saw Twenty to victory with four overs to spare.

Preston Capes thumped Charlbury by four wickets.

Batting first, Charlbury rattled up 115-2, Ashley Rump hitting 29 not out.

In reply, Capes cruised to victory at 116-2, Rob Williams hitting 30 not out, Dave Hawkes 28 not out and George Ar-blaster 26 not out.
