World champion swimmer Darvis Tarwater held a coaching session for more than 90 City of Oxford juniors.
Tarwater, who won gold with the USA in the 800m freestyle relay last year, gave the youngsters tips in freestyle and butterfly at Temple Cowley Pool.
The 25-year-old is taking a year out from competition to study for a masters degree at Oxford University.
Tarwater’s session came after he had presented City’s club championship medals.
City of Oxford junior Isabel Rundle said: “He was brilliant and I want to see him compete in 2012.”
l KIDLINGTON & Gosford had five individual winners as they finished fourth in a C Grade/Novice team gala at Aylesbury. First places were recorded by Sarah Nobbs (50m backstroke), Daniel Ward (50m breaststroke), Esme Blackford (50m freestyle), Rebekah Richens (25m butterfly) and Abbey Daley (50m breaststroke).
Lucy Parsons, Helen Phipps, Hetta Burden, Rachel Brown and Emily Ridewood also turned in excellent swims.
