Anthony Tonkin and James Constable are expected to return to Oxford United’s starting XI against Kidderminster at the Kassam Stadium today.

However, as always, U’s boss Chris Wilder is keeping his line-up under wraps.

Tonkin was cup-tied and Constable rested for the FA Trophy third-round tie at Chelmsford, which United won 3-1.

Adam Murray is still not right after his back problem, so is likely to be sidelined, but new signing and familiar face Chris Hargreaves is in the squad, ready to make his Kassam Stadium return.

However, with a tough away game at Luton to come on Tuesday, United may be thinking about holding Hargreaves back a bit for that one.

It is more likely that the 37-year-old, signed from Torquay last week, is again named as one of the subs today, against a Harriers side unbeaten in three games since new manager Steve Burr took charge.

Striker Robbie Matthews returns to the Kidderminster side after two matches out through illness.

Winger Marc Goodfellow, signed after a spell on loan at Burton Albion, is likely to make his debut.

Goodfellow has already faced the U’s this season, while at Barrow, and gave them quite a few problems with his trickery in the Bluebirds’ FA Cup replay win at Holker Street.

United keeper Ryan Clarke, whose slip contributed to last month’s defeat against Tamworth, says his teammates are eager to avenge their 3-1 defeat at Kidderminster last November.

“You could say we kind of owe them one, but at the same time we’ve got a lot of respect for them. They’re a good team,” he said.

“We didn’t start well down there and you could say we got what we deserved, even though our second-half performance was better.”

Clarke, who was at Kidderminster on loan from Bristol for a couple of months in 2004, has had to adjust to new players in front of him, with Rhys Day, Jake Wright and Tonkin seemingly now holding the shirt in three of the back four positions.

“The boys who have come in have been absolutely fantastic,” Clarke said.

“We’ve got Saturday-Tuesday nearly every week now, but, looking back to the start of the season, our best form was when we were playing regularly.

“Between now and the end of the season we’ve got a lot of games coming thick and fast. People are going to make mistakes, but luckily there’s a game around the corner to put things right, as happened with me with Tamworth.

“I’ve got to hold my hands up for that. It was uncharacteristic and is something I’ve got over straight after it happened.”

During the run-in, clubs chasing promotion see each ten-point barrier as a milestone, and Oxford can reach, and pass, the 60-point mark today.

“Of course you look at each ten-point mark,” said Wilder. “As soon as we get into the 90-point region, the better!”
