Rhys Glastonbury took the honours in the under 20 men’s race, as Radley and Oxford City dominated the junior events at the Oxfordshire Cross Country Championships at Middleton Cheney.

Glastonbury clocked 40mins 02secs over the 10km course to win the title by more than a minute ahead of Witney Roadrunner Chris Low.

Glastonbury’s teammate Megan Roberts made it a club double by winning the under 20 women’s title over seven kilometres in 29.59.

In the under 17 men’s event, Radley posted a brilliant 1-2-3 as Stuart Ferguson, George Miller and Alistair Duff packed superbly to secure the team prize.

Ferguson won the title in 19.26.

Oxford City’s Melissa Hawtin blitzed the field to win the under 17 girls’ race.

Over the five kilometre course, Hawtin clocked 18.56 to win by a massive margin of more than two minutes from Radley’s Gemma Bridge (21.11).

City also produced the goods in the under 15 boys’ event, Matthieu Marshall and Josh Tack finishing first and second in the 4.5km race in 16.33 and 16.43 respectively.

Birthday girl Lauren Hawtin (Oxford City) won the under 15 girls’ title, crossing the line in the 4km race in 14.48.

She saw off teammate Imogen Kempton comfortably, but with Rebecca Byren, Ellisa Clark and Kathryn Munday all performing well, City comprehensively secured the team prize.

Beth Hawtin completed another successful day for City by winning the under 13 girls’ race in 11.00, City taking the team prize in the process.

Radley’s Christian von Eitzen landed the under 13 boys’ title in 10.10, Radley also winning the team prize.

In the under 11 event, Radley’s TJ McClimont won the boys’ race in 4.40, while Fiona Insley (Manor Prep School) took the honours in the girls’ race.
