Didcot Tn 2 (Williams 12, Draycott 90)

Bedford Tn 2 (McDougald 17, Lewis 19)

Mark Draycott’s goal deep in stoppage time earned Didcot a vital point against ten-man Bedford in the Premier Division on Saturday (Zamaretto Southern league).

The point keeps Stuart Peace’s team out of the relegation zone.

After a slow start, Didcot opened the scoring when Jordan Tabor’s free-kick was nodded home by Andy Williams from close range.

But the lead lasted only five minutes when the impressive Junior McDougald levelled with a header.

Moments later, Bedford took the lead as Callum Lewis thumped home a stunning goal from 25 yards.

The game became increasingly bad-tempered, with a number of Bedford players booked.

Draycott forced Bedford keeper Mike Kavanagh into a decent low save, but the visitors led at the break.

In the second half, Draycott was again denied by Kav-anagh, who made a stunning save, while Phil John missed the target with a low drive.

At the other end, Bedford had two great chances to settle it, but first Lewis and then Ian Draycott were penalised for diving in the box.

Lewis hit a post for the visitors, before being shown a second yellow card for time-wasting and was sent off.

Ironically, it was in time added on that Didcot grabbed their equaliser as Mark Draycott turned and finished in style beyond Kavanagh.
