Didcot Town winger Josh Dutton-Black is set to end his nine-week injury lay-off when they host local rivals Oxford City at Loop Meadow Stadium on Boxing Day.

The former Oxford United youngster hasn’t played since damaging knee ligaments against Cambridge City in the FA Trophy in October, but is raring to go as the Railwaymen look to avoid being dragged into a Zamaretto Southern League Premier Division dogfight.

He was due to make his comeback against Nuneaton Town, but that was put on ice due to a frozen pitch.

“It’s like signing a new player.” said Peace, who says the side have missed his pace and guile.

“We trained at Tilsley Park on Tuesday and he looked very sharp. It is good to have him back. We have really missed him because we have a small enough squad as it is. He’s like a new signing for us.”

In addition, centre back Andy Williams is available after returning from holiday, as is midfielder Jordan Tabor, while defender Ian Sampson is back from suspension.

The only absentee is Matty Jack (knee injury).

When the sides last met, in August the clash ended 1-1.

Peace added: “City are more accustomed to this league, but player for player, I am convinced we can get a good result.

“But we will have to play well against a very organised side. They are all tough games in this league.

“The players don’t need winding up for this game.

“We have a few of their old players – Michael Alexis, who joined us recently, will want to have a good day.

“The fact it’s a derby makes no difference to me, we need to get some points.”

Striker Lee Steele and Dave Savage return for City, though they have a doubt over Mark Bell (thigh injury).

Manager Mike Ford said: “We have been playing well away from home.

“We have been resilient and I don’t expect us to be any differently.

“In the 1-1 draw I think both teams didn’t want to lose. But I think, this time, for different reasons, both teams want to win the game.

“Stuart has done a fantastic job with two promotions and the FA Vase win.”

Banbury United boss Billy Jeffrey has urged the fans to head down to Spencer Stad-ium in numbers at home to Swindon Supermarine.

Jeffrey, who will be without Joe Coleman (holiday), said: “We have done really well and I am very proud of the young lads we brought in.

“I’m delighted we are sixth, but I want us to stay in the top-ten.

“We would like as many fans to come along as possible.

“It would be good for the younger players to play in front of a big crowd.”

Abingdon United manager Andy Slater says victory at basement boys Bracknell Town is vital.

Slater, whose side have lost their last three games said: “It’s a must-win game if we are to have any aspirations for this season.

“We’re not playing badly, we’re just not taking our chances. John Mills hasn’t scored for five games.”

Abingdon will be without Elliott Osbourne-Ricketts (suspended) and Pablo Hay-sham (away).Richard Peirson (neck) is a doubt.

North Leigh boss Mark Gee wants his side to break their run of disappointing away displays in Division 1 South & West, starting with the trip to Bishops Cleeve (1pm).

They haven’t won on their travels since October when they won at Hayes.

Gee, who will be without Karl Dodds (away) and Jamie Jackson (unavailable), said: “We have under-achieved away from home. We should be winning more matches.”
