Nathan Skelton scored a brace on his debut as Oxfordshire Under 18s made the semi-finals of the Mick Parry Memorial Trophy for the first time in three years with a 2-1 victory away to Dorset.

It set up a last-four tie against Wiltshire in February.

With six of the starting eleven making their debut, Oxon suffered a blow when goalkeeper Mike Anderson pulled out before the kick-off, but Eddie Dale proved a more than capable deputy.

Oxfordshire took the lead when Lewis Brown fed Skelton, who coolly slotted past the keeper after two minutes.

However, 12 minutes later Oxon failed to deal with a Luke Pigsley cross, and Sam Lanaham fired home the equaliser from eight yards past Dale.

After the break, Oxon were indebted to Dale who made a brilliant save to deny Lanaham from close range.

It looked like the game would go to extra time, but a superb pass from substitute Jordan Ayris allowed Skelton to fire in the winner on 85 minutes.

Dorset were reduced to ten men when their skipper was red-carded for foul and abusive language, and Oxon held on for a deserved victory.
