Grove edged out Slough 15-10 to stay third in Southern Counties North after a lacklustre display at Cane Lane.

Slough took the lead with full back Kevin Dunne’s penalty.

Grove flanker James Kerr was forced into touch, but fly half Roger Sevier soon equalised with a penalty.

Following a 20-metre forward drive, centre Nick Sevier fed flanker Guy Nicholl, who outpaced the defence to score, Roger Sevier converting.

Hooker Jon North went through the middle of a ruck, collected the ball and ran 50 metres for Grove’s second try.

After the break, Grove captain Steve Maryon and Slough scrum half Ross Evans were sin-binned and Slough bagged a try from prop Matt Fenwick, converted by Dunne.

Bicester lost 33-0 at home to Amersham & Chiltern.

Darren Smith, Neil Foster, Lewis Culverhouse, Tom Gramenous and Tom Fletcher bagged the tries, while Dan Kinsey added two penalties and a conversion.

Bicester flanker Adrian Teckoe and left wing Jak Cluness made strong tackles, but there was little else to cheer.
