Kidlington 4 (Parker 50, 59, Weedon 52, Deabill 83)

Ascot Utd 0

After thrashing Ascot 7-1 earlier in the season, there was concern in the Kidlington camp when they failed to score in the first half of the return Premier Division match at Yarnton Road on Saturday.

But after a half-time pep talk from boss Gordon Geary, the hosts raced to a comfortable victory.

Kidlington eventually took the lead in spectacular fashion in the 50th minute.

Luke Holden was fouled some 25 yards from goal. Jordan Parker then hit the sweetest of free-kicks into the top right- hand corner of the goal.

Two minutes later, the lead was doubled. Mark Baker sent in a corner which was not cleared effectively, and the ball fell to Chris Weedon, who looped it over Ascot keeper Dave Lyons.

Parker made it 3-0 in the 59th minute. Weedon beat his man, cut inside and crossed for Parker to hammer home from ten yards.

Ascot went close through Richard Mills and Rob Saunders before Kidlington added a fourth goal.

Some more powerful running down saw the outstanding Weedon skip away from the defenders before crossing low into the box. Jimmy Deabill charging forward slid in to drive the ball home at the far post.

Hook Norton 3 (Brotherston 16, Robbins 42, Moulder 55)

Marlow Utd 3 (Nicol 36, Flint 81, 90)

Two goals in the last ten minutes denied Hook Norton a second successive victory.

Ollie Brotherston put Hooky ahead, but Andy Nicol levelled the scores before the hard-working James Robbins restored Hooky’s lead before the interval.

With Dan Greaves shining, Pete Moulder extended Hooky’s advantage in the second half.

But with ten minutes left, Marlow put Hooky’s back four under pressure and allowed Olie Flint to make it 3-2.

Then in injury time, Marlow were awarded a free-kick in their own half.

The ball was lumped forward and Flint claimed his second goal to deny young Hooky all three points.
