Jamie Cook gave Oxford United an early lead in their FA Cup second-round tie against Barrow at the Kassam Stadium.
Cook cut in from the right in the ninth minute and his low left-footed shot deflected off defender Mike Pearson to wrongfoot keeper Stuart Tomlinson.
The U's started without top scorer James Constable, who had a slight back injury. He was on the bench.
