Two goals midway through the second half sent North Leigh tumbling out of the Southern League’s Red Insure Cup with a 2-1 defeat at Swindon Supermarine in the second round on Wednesday night.
After an uneventful first half, North Leigh fell behind in the 63rd minute when Supermarine substitute Nick Stanley fired a rising shot from the edge of the penalty area into the far top corner.
Five minutes later, Premier Division Supermarine doubled their lead with Sam Morris beating keeper Sam Warrell with a shot at his near post.
Stuart Hole pulled a goal back with a overhead kick three minutes from time after Andy Caton’s shot was blocked by Matt Bulman.
