Oxford Ladies edged out local rivals Witney Angels, who had only 14 players, 8-5 to stay top of Midlands 1.
Despite controlling much of the first half, hosts Oxford trailed 5-0 at the break after Witney fly half Emma Paterson scored a try.
In the second half, Rebecca Watts dodged through the Witney defence to equalise.
Catherine Page slotted Oxford’s winning penalty, while Witney felt unlucky not to take the verdict.
Leaders Oxford have won five out of six games so far, but remarkably still have a points difference of -1 after losing their first outing to Eccleshall 54-0!
Oxford’s Natalie Barclay said: “We are pleased with the victory, but are mindful that we will have to improve before next week’s fixture away to Longton.”
