Ardley Utd 3 (Blossom 59, Clarke 61, Mason 89)

Oxford City Nomads 0

A superb second-half display saw Ardley United to victory over Oxford City Nomads in the Premier Division in the FTL Futbol Hellenic League.

With a strong wind at their backs, the home side dominated the first half, but spurned a host of good chances, while Wayne Blossom had a goal ruled out for offisde.

Fourteen minutes after the break, Ardley went in front when a high, hanging corner from Danny Clarke dropped onto the head of Blossom, who nodded home.

Blossom then set up Clarke for No 2.

With conditions deteriorating, the home side wrapped up the points two minutes from time.

It came courtesy of an outrageous Danny Mason strike, as he scored from fully 60 yards.

A huge punt forward took one bounce before sailing over Nomads’ keeper Milan Barisic into the net.

Kidlington 4 (Deabill 50, Holden 54, 86, Johnson 79)

Binfield 1 (Tallentire 6)

Kidlington’s rich vain of form continued as they came from behind to beat high-flying Binfield.

With the strong wind in their favour, Binfield went on the attack from the start and opened the scoring when Jack Tallentire slammed home a wind-assisted effort from 35 yards.

Kidlington defended resolutely in the first half to restrict the visitors to long shots, and would have been happy to be only a goal down at the break.

And in the second half, Kidlington had the elements in their favour.

An incident by the touchline saw Danny Leggett needlessly fouled and he had to be replaced after picking up a nasty gash across the back of his calf, which needed 12 stiches.

Kidlington were level inside five minutes of the restart when Mark Flanagan set up Jimmy Deabill, who smashed home into the top corner.

Luke Holden put Kidlington ahead four minutes later, hammering a drive past the Binfield keeper.

The home side were dominant, and netted their third in the 79th minute.

Chris Weedon crossed for substitute Jack Johnson to finish with a deft header.

Binfield were awarded a penalty in the 84th minute, but Withers blasted the effort over the bar.

And two minutes later, the home side wrapped up victory when Holden netted his second.

Headington Amateurs 3 (Simmonds 49, Lockhart 81, 87)

Letcombe 2 (Horswell 53, Roberts 62)

Headington came from behind for the second successive week to snatch a thrilling Oxfordshire derby victory in Division 1 West.

After a goalless first half, the second period was an entertaining affair, despite the ferocious wind, which threatened to ruin the match.

Adam Simmonds gave Amateurs the lead four minutes after the break as he hit a rasping drive beyond Letcombe keeper Simon Byrne.

Soon after, Letcombe’s Pete Horswell beat the offside trip to round Headington goalkeeper Harry Jenkins for a simple finish.

And the visitors were soon in front when Paul Roberts netted from a flowing move.

As the game entered the final ten minutes, Benji Cuff set up the equaliser as his run and cross was turned in by Neil Lockhart.

A draw would have been a fair result, but Lockhart had other ideas.

With three minutes left, he struck a superb volley into the roof of the net from 15 yards to seal the points for Headington.
