Banbury United boss Billy Jeffrey says his side must be at their best when they travel to Oxfordshire rivals Didcot Town in the Zamaretto Southern League Premier Division on Tuesday.

“We know it’s going to be a tough game,” said Jeffrey, whose side beat Halesowen 2-1 on Saturday.

“But that’s why we are in this league - for these sorts of games. It’s good for the players and the fans.

“There is a nice surface and I will be looking for us to keep up our usual work-rate.

“We’ll go there positive, looking to win the game, but it won’t be easy.”

Didcot recall Jordan Tabor from his loan spell at Witney United as they look to break their home league duck.

Didcot manager Stuart Peace, whose side lost 3-2 at Bashley, said: “We haven’t had a good home record over the past few seasons at home, so it’s something we need to address.”

Oxford City will be unchanged for their trip to Evesham United as they look to extend their unbeaten run to nine games.

Boss Mike Ford said: “It’s a much tougher game than the Bedford game (they won 4-1). They are big and strong, so we need to roll our sleeves up.”
