Kidlington 1 Abingdon Tn 0 A LAST-gap penalty from Jimmy Deabill saw Kidlington reach the preliminary round after a narrow victory against Oxfordshire rivals Abingdon Town on Saturday.

With just minutes left, it looked as though the game would go to a replay.

But the big striker put away the spot-kick after Mark Baker was brought down, to set up an away trip to Totton & Eling.

Kidlington keeper Tom McNamara was out quickly to deny Graham Edney, while at the other end, Matt Dixon denied Deabill, before he tipped over Jack Quainton’s effort over.

After the break, Kidlington took charge, with Kieran Sanders hitting a post and Dixon keeping out Mark Baker and Lewis Coyle.

But minutes from time, Baker was brought down in the area and up stepped Deabill to smash home the winner from the spot.

Hamble ASSC 2 Wantage 2 WANTAGE face a home replay tomorrow night after holding Hamble to a draw.

Paul West fired the Hampshire hosts ahead, before Wantage levelled from the penalty spot after Chris Copp was felled, Richie Claydon netting the penalty.

In the second half, Richie Guy gave Wantage the lead when he poked home Claydon’s cross.

However, their joy was short-lived as Lloyd Webber equalised from West’s cross.

Late on, Claydon had a chance to grab the winner, but fired wide.

The winners will be home to Newport IOW.

Bicester Tn 1 Dunstable Tn 4 BICESTER crashed out of the competition following a home drubbing from their Bedfordshire visitors.

It started to go wrong for Bicester when goalkeeper Liam Shea dropped a cross to present a simple chance to Dunstable’s Neil Perrin.

Matt Blenford quickly got back on level terms with a well-taken goal eight minutes later.

But that was as good as it got for Paul Berry’s side as Dunstable ran away with it, taking the lead before half-time through Lewis Osbourne.

After the break Dan O’Connor made it 3-1, before Aaron Flood compounded Bicester’s misery when he netted the visitors’ fourth ten minutes from time.
