Striker James Constable returns to the Oxford United side as they look to maintain their unbeaten start at Histon today.

Boss Chris Wilder has declared last season’s leading scorer, who could only be named as a substitute in the 1-1 draw at Kettering in midweek due to a back injury, fully fit and he will start the Blue Square Premier clash.

Now, the U’s manager must decide whether to stick with the 4-5-1 formation that saw Jack Midson play as the lone striker, or opt for two forwards.

“We’re very pleased that James is fit again,” said Wilder, who has a full squad to select from.

“We didn’t want him to risk him on Tuesday as he wasn’t 100 per cent. But it’s the type of injury that isn’t going to get any worse. He’s feeling a lot better and will start on Saturday.”

Wilder said the players would need to show their mental toughness to get anything from the trip to Cambridgeshire.

“I have been very happy with our form away from home,” he said.

“That was one of the accusations that was laid at Oxford – that they had a soft underbelly and were a soft touch away from home.

“But we have addressed that and the mental strength has improved. And we have to show that on Saturday.”

Wilder added: “We know what to expect. We went to watch Histon play at Cambridge a few weeks ago and we have another report on them from Tuesday night (against Grays Athletic).”

Alfie Potter is expected to continue on the right wing, with Wilder choosing between Matt Green, Alex Rhodes and Marcus Kelly on the left flank.

Histon are expected to be unchanged from their draw against Grays, though they have a doubt over winger John Kennedy.

Both sides go into the match on four points, with U’s supporters reminded the game is not all-ticket for away fans.
