North Leigh manager Mark Gee has rung the changes and is raring to go when their Zamaretto Southern League Division 1 South & West campaign kicks off at Uxbridge on Saturday.

North Leigh finished three places outside the play-offs last season – their first foray into the Southern League.

And Gee hopes for continued improvement this season, and is targeting a place in the play-offs in May.

Gee said: “Last season was one of discovery for us in terms of the level we were playing at.

“I gave the players who had won us promotion the opportunity to play at the next level, and they all did well for me.

“We held our own last year, but obviously we want to build on that for this season.”

Gee has lost only one player from last season’s squad, striker Liam Hope making the switch back to Didcot Town, who won promotion to the Premier Division.

Gee said: “I’m disappointed that Liam has left us, but he wanted the chance to play at a higher level, and we would not stand in his way.”

Gee has brought in goalkeeper Sam Warrell from Abingdon United along with experienced wide player Ryan Curtin, while former Oxford United youngster Aaron Posey, a defensive midfielder, joins from Old Woodstock.

There is also a return to the club for Robbie Wyatt, who had stepped down to Oxfordshire Senior League level with Chadlington.

In: Sam Warrell, Ryan Curtin (both Abingdon Utd), Aaron Posey (Old Woodstock Town), Robbie Wyatt, Tom Speers (both Chadlington), Jason Smith (Oxford City Nomads), Ady Holder (Carterton).

Out: Liam Hope (Didcot Town).
