Hyron Shallow could break the Cherwell League record for most runs in a season when Twyford visit Wolverton Town in Division 3 on Saturday.

The West Indian star needs just 36 runs to pass Hasnain Raza’s mark of 1,236 set for Stokenchurch in 2004 and has four matches to do so.

Shallow, 26, has scored 1,201 runs in 12 league matches at an average of 171.6, bagging five centuries in the process.

Last year, Great Brickhill’s Shannon Tubb came close to Raza’s mark with 1,220.

However, Shallow will not receive a trophy for his efforts as the league have decided all individual batting and bowling awards will be reserved for category 1 (homegrown or residency qualified) players.
