OXFORDSHIRE went top of the West League with back-to-back victories in the ECB Under 17 Girls County Championship.

They won a low-scoring affair against Devon by one run at Marston, despite being bowled out for 67, Megan Burton top-scoring with 22.

Spinners Fi Morris (3-11) and Ellie Porter (2-17) turned the game in Oxon’s favour, before three wickets at the death from Linsey Smith saw Devon dismissed for 66.

Oxon followed this up with a 27-run win in Gloucestershire.

Burton was again the star with the bat, hitting 40 not out as Oxon reached 109-5 in a game reduced to 25 overs per side.

Tight opening spells from Sam Moore (2-15) and Gemma Muttitt (1-10) put Gloucestershire on the back foot and they were bowled out for 82.

l Oxon moved up to second in the South Division of the ECB Under 15 girls Championship.

At Buckinghamshire, Oxon bowled their hosts out for 47 with Linsey Smith and Rose Beck each taking three wickets.

Oxon then cruised home at 49-1 inside 12 overs.

Rhian Todd and Beck took four wickets each as Oxon beat Berkshire by seven wickets.

Beck took 4-5 and Todd 4-16 as Berkshire were dismissed for 58.

Smith (17no) and Caitie Burton (14no) then saw Oxfordshire home.

l Oxon secured second place in the South Group of the ECB Under 13 Girls Championship.

They thrashed Isle of Wight by nine wickets at Northwood.

Putting their hosts in, Oxon restricted Isle of Wight to 68-7, before Abi Flory (21no) and Juliet Gardner (19no) took Oxon to victory.

Oxon lost to Hampshire in their top-of-the-table clash.

They posted 125-9, Flory top-scoring with 39.

Despite 3-29 from Gardner, the visitors crept to 126-8.
