NORTH Cotswold completed a league and cup double as they clinched the Oxfordshire Under 13 League title in finals day at Bicester & North Oxford.

Having already won the Ron Maudsley Knockout Trophy, North Cotswold edged to a nine-run victory over Aston Rowant in the league final.

Rowant were keen to avenge their comprehensive defeat to North Cotswold in the Ron Maudsley final, and, having put North Cotswold into bat, produced a tidy performance in the field to restrict them to 102-8.

Rafe Garrett was the pick of the Rowant bowlers with 3-8, while Ollie Currell (31no) and Darrell Williams (24) shone with the bat.

However, a slow start to their reply proved costly to Rowant and they finished on 93-7.

In the earlier semi-finals, Rowant had rattled up 122-6 from their 20 overs against Shipton-under-Wychwood, Dan Matthews (32) and Andrew Tolson (31) leading the way.

Shipton never recovered from the loss of early wickets as they were bowled out for 56, Sam Evans taking 3-6 and Garrett 3-13.

In the other semi-final, North Cotswold cruised to an eight-wicket win over Kennington, having dismissed them for 43.

Shipton won the third-place play-off match, after finishing level with Kennington on 76-7, but having lost fewer wickets.
