Five teams of under 10s from Oxford City, Abingdon Youth, Marston Saints, Kidlington Youth Girls and Carterton will play at Wembley Stadium next week.

It is part of the annual FA/McDonald's National Football Festival.

Abingdon Youth and Marston Saints won their place through McDonald’s club twinning programme, which sees restaurants providing support to local football clubs.

Kidlington Youth, Carterton and Oxford City got invitations from the FA to take part.

Oxfordshire is the best represented county and more than 700 other children will take part.

As well as playing on the hallowed turf, as well as receiving expert tuition from qualified community coaches.

Those include former Manchester United youth team coach and now McDonald’s coach Eric Harrison, who helped nurture the careers of David Beckham, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and the Neville brothers, Gary and Phil.

The teams will also get the chance to meet England’s 1966 World Cup hat-trick hero, Sir Geoff Hurst.

It has been organised by McDonald’s, the FA’s Community Partner, and the Football Association.
