Trainer Michael Peterson has just had a week to remember.

On Monday, his partner, Abi, presented him with a baby daughter Courtney, who weighed in at 6lb 9ozs, a sister for Callum.

And that's not all, his former top grade stayer Bua Nancy, whelped a litter of eight to Irish sire Si Senor (five dogs and three bitches).

In addition, Peterson did it again on the open race scene when Maldini Returns obliged at Romford as did Yeates's Melodys Comet, making it a double at the same track in the space of seven days.

Meanwhile, Boomtown Prince prevailed for Paddy Curtin at Monmore and Tony Magnasco scored at Coventry with Swift Stirling.

Curtin sends Stoneyholm Vito and Farloe Macho to Wimbledon tonight for the Stan James Puppy Derby.

By contrast, there was a massive disappointment for trainer Johnny Mayo after his Burwood Freddie went lame on the day of the final of the £15,000 Two year-old Produce Stakes at Swindon on Saturday.

It was the Worminghall handler's first big-race final, but on the day Freddie was found to be lame on his rear hind.

Mayo said: "We had checked Freddie every day to monitor him, but on the Saturday morning I felt a slight swelling on his rear hind and the owner Doug Fagg and I didn't want to risk him.

“Hopefully, he will get his chance on another day.”

The winner turned out to be Romeo Expert, the even money favourite coming home more than seven lengths in front of Milly Maria (25-1), breaking the track record in the process.
