Sixteen-year-old Harry Smith smashed a career-best 167 as Horley won a high-scoring top-of-the-table Division 1 clash with Shrivenham by 22 runs on Saturday.

Smith and Ollie Wright (72) helped Horley to a massive 304-4 from their 45 overs.

In reply, Shrivenham never gave up the chase, with Alex Kill also in form, hitting 86.

Adam Tucker and Mark Whale both chipped in with half centuries, but Shrivenham finished short at 282-9.

Steve Wharton hit a century and Stuart Parker fell for 97 as Great Horwood rattled up 292-3 against Oxford Caribbean.

Ryan Mills (61), Bryan Barrett (57) and Dave Prosper (55) then shone for Caribbean, but they fell to 241 all out.

Freeland eased to a six-wicket win at Charlbury.

The home side were bowled out for 179, before Billy Webb (69no) and Ian Harris (53) saw Freeland to victory.

Richard Tredwell starred for Westbury in their five-wicket win over Marcham.

Tredwell took 4-61 as Marcham were bowled out for 173, Andy Clarke taking 5-42.

The former Bucks batsman then hit 68 as Westbury reached 177-5.

East Oxford saw off Tetsworth by 42 runs.

They were bowled out for 179, before Tauqeer Hussain (3-28) and Faisil Choudhary (3-43) combined to dismiss Tetsworth for 134.

In Division 2, Tim Lunel slammed a ton to help Hook Norton to a 68-run victory over Fringford.

Lunel’s 109 not out and 84 from Cliff Dare helped Hook Norton to 288-3, before Fringford were restricted to 220-8.

Neil Ferreira’s 138 was in vain for Northleach as East & West Hendred won by five wickets.

Ferreira hit 138 not out in Northleach’s 223-7, but Hendred chipped away at the target, reaching 227-5, Mark Baring (47) and Ivan Mulford (46) leading the way.

Faringdon beat Minster Lovell by 67 runs.

Nigel Hume (49) and Ian McDowall (41) helped Faringdon to 197-8, before Minster were bowled out for 130.

Richard Taylor took a hat-trick in figures of 4-13 as Letcombe beat Marsh Gibbon by 92 runs.

Letcombe were bowled out for 161, Richard Hales hitting 53 and Taylor 45, Grant Cross taking 5-34.

Marsh Gibbon lost Matty Mead as his wife went into labour, and never threatened the total.

Taylor completed victory with his hat-trick.

Division 3 leaders Witney Swifts edged to a four-run victory over Oxenford.

Charlie Fisher (43) and Alfie Saunders (41) led the way in Swifts’ 221-9.

Ayyaz Malik then hit 80 for Oxenford, but they fell to 217 all out with two balls to go, Graeme Woodward taking 3-36.

Stonesfield beat Kings Sutton by 69 runs.

Jamie Burns (77no) and Adam Lambert (57) helped Stonesfield to 220-8, before Adam Fleetwood took 3-39 as Kings Sutton were sent tumbling to 151 all out.

Richard Benwell took 4-24 as Westcott saw off Clifton Hampden by 21 runs.

Earlier, Westcott had been dismissed for 138, Steve Slater taking 5-36 and Lawrence Harvey 4-30.

In Division 4, youngster Robbie Nicholson hit 111 as Combe beat Britwell Salome by 70 runs.

Nicholson’s knock helped Combe to 249-8, before Dave Moss (3-22) and Dave Gardner (3-32) helped to restrict Britwell to 179-8.

Paul King smashed 130 to help Hailey to an 80-run win at Minster Lovell 2nd.

Hailey rattled up 224-9, before restricting the home side to 149-7.

Deddington defeated Uffington by five wickets.

Mark Ryland took 6-64 as Uffington fell to 234 all out.

Deddington got home at 236-5, thanks to 67 from James Ransom and 65 from Ramesh Chennagiri.

Brill posted a 57-run victory over Oxford Rescue.

Having been restricted to 171-9, they dismissed their hosts for 114, Ian Smith taking 4-15 and Nick Judd 3-3.
