Section 1 Littlemore British Legion staged a fantastic fightback when they visited Men’s Premier side College Oak A in the Greene King ODDA Summer League.

Although the visitors took the lead through Pete Jones (180), Oak hit back to lead 2-1 with wins from Barry Radford and Paul Champ.

The Legion levelled at 2-2 when Alan Eckart beat Les Radford (180).

Yet College Oak took a 4-2 lead thanks to wins from Martin Breakspear and Michael Wilkes (180).

Legion looked down and out, but they produced a battling comeback and a 3-0 pairs win gave them an unlikely 5-4 victory.

Defending Premier champions Original Swan were beaten 5-4 at The Shears.

Shears took the lead through Kevin Wilkins, but wins from Terry Wood, Jon Jukes (180) and Tony Allday gave Swan a 3-1 lead.

Shears fought back and successes for Kevin Barefoot, with a 141 finish (60-45-36) and Dave Excell, levelled the scores at 3-3.

A 2-1 pairs win for the Shears brought them victory.

In Section 2, Butchers Arms and Steventon Sports Club were involved in a hard-fought match.

The singles ended level at 3-3, but Steventon edged 5-4 ahead in the pairs.

Cowley Workers Club hit their best form of the season with a 7-2 win over the visiting Chequers Inn.

Wins from Simon Powell, Lyndon Richards, Mo Oliver and Wayland Honour gave the Workers a 4-2 lead after the singles and a 3-0 pairs win made it emphatic.

Folly Bridge Inn made it four wins from four games at home to College Oak B.

The visitors opened the scoring when Shane Paintin beat Charlie Guinan.

Folly Bridge levelled as Martin Worrall beat Mike Woodbridge and the visitors took a 2-1 lead after Steve Fisher beat Lee Worrall.

Folly bounced back and wins from Clinton Cantwell and Paul Davis put them 3-2 ahead.

But a fine win for Ryan Hutchinson levelled it up.

A 2-1 pairs win gave Folly Bridge a 5-4 victory – their fourth such win of the season.

Masons Arms A came from 3-0 down against Cricketers Arms to record a 5-4 win.

In the ladies’ section, Cricketers Arms A visited Section 2 rivals Crown House Club and took a 3-0 lead .

The home side pulled one back when Mary Just beat Hazel Drennan.

But Cricketers powered into a 5-1 lead with wins from Sam Walton and Val Lashley, and they went on to win 6-3.

Grove House Social Club A led hosts East Oxford Conservative Club on three separate occasions, after wins from Valerie Jarvis, Wendy Plowman and Hollie Lord.

But each time the Conservative Club hit back to level, with wins from Norma Brain, Teresa Bowden, and Ann Luciw.

The East Oxford club won the pairs 2-1 for a surprising 5-4 win.
