Manager Chris Wilder has announced his retained list for next season.
Defenders Shane Killock and Kevin Sandwith have both been offered new deals and the club are in discussion with Adam Chapman and Sheffield United to secure his services on a permanent basis.
Craig Farrell and Lewis Haldane have returned to York City and Bristol Rovers after their loan deals and are under contract at those clubs.
Eight players have been told they will not be offered a new deal. Those are Eddie Hutchinson, Yemi Odubade, Chris Willmott, Phil Trainer, Craig Nelthorpe, Matt Day, Barry Quinn and Matty Taylor.
In addition Joe Burnell and Chris Carruthers have been told they can talk to other clubs over the summer, although both are contracted for a further year.
