Conference sponsors Blue Square are now paying out on Burton, after they moved 19 points clear at the top of the table with their 2-1 win over Wrexham on Tuesday – even though they still have 14 games to play.
“We’ll be paying out around £40,000 to their backers, but overall they’ve been a fantastic result and we’ll turn in a good profit at the end of the season providing they hold on,” said Blue Square’s Alan Alger.
The Brewers were available at 14-1 for promotion before the season started.
SUPPORTERS, who two months ago had written off any chance of Oxford United reaching the play-offs, are now thinking there’s a small chance.
Here are the dates of the Conference play-offs: Semi-final, 1st legs – April 30 and May 1.
Semi-final, 2nd legs – May 4 and May 5.
Final (at Wembley) – May 17.
