Radley youngster Stuart Ferguson shone at the Under 17 English Indoor Championships, held at the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham.
Ferguson claimed the gold medal in the 1500m after a well-timed kick from 300m out.
He pulled away from closest rival Chris Perrin to win in a personal best of 4mins 13.54secs.
This result followed his second place in the South of England Championships in January and bodes well for the forthcoming outdoor season.
In the under 15 girls’ competition, Emma O’Hara won a bronze medal in the shot with a throw of 10.38m.
