Honours were even at the annual Town v Gown contest, staged by Oxford University at Iffley Road.
Oxford City won the men’s event, while the honours in the ladies’ competition went to the university.
In the men’s contest, a solid team performance from Andrew Flint, Tony Stead, Neil Hurford and Jeremy Flint saw them overturn last year’s defeat with an 11-4 victory.
The university ladies swept to a 12-4 victory over their City counterparts.
There were maximums for Maitreyi Shivkumar and former top-20 ranked England junior Frances Potjewyd and Susain Chai.
