Oxfordshire come up against some of the biggest names in darts when they travel to face Yorkshire in the British Darts Organisation Inter-Counties Championship Premier League this weekend.

It represents the biggest game in their history as Oxon take on the league leaders, having reached the top flight for the first time this season.

Oxon have made a steady start to their campaign with three draws and one defeat, but they have it all to do against a Yorkshire outfit who have won all four of their fixtures so far.

Among their big guns are four players who recently appeared on television in the BDO World championships at Frimley Green – John Walton, Scott Waites, Martin Atkins and Garry Thompson.

Oxon are in sixth place in the table, 40 points behind the leaders, and this fixture is their toughest since they began their remarkable run four year ago which has seen them rise from Division 4.

The selectors have made several changes.

Steve Foster and Barry Stratford return to the men’s A team and Paul Cross and Mark Stocker have been selected for the men’s B.

The games will be played at Glasshoughton WMC, 152 Leeds Road, Castleford, West Yorkshire and will start midday on Saturday and 11.30am on Sunday.
