A thrillingBuildbase Handicap Cup match between Cowley Con D and Yarnton RBL A ended with the former winning a sudden-death shoot-out to book their place in the third round.

Things looked easy for Cowley when wins from Doug Turner, Simon Painter and Anthony Turner put them 3-0 ahead.

But Yarnton fought back and levelled when Mick Aust, Peter Astall and John Parsons recorded victories.

Anthony Turner then played Parsons in the shoot-out, with Parsons going in off the final black to hand Cowley a thrilling victory.

Eynsham B pipped their A team clubmates after another seven-frame nailbiter.

Kevin Truby gave the B side an early lead, before Lawrence Parsons levelled.

The A side then went ahead thanks to Ashley Bowerman, but Tim Bowles made it 2-2.

Richard Partlett edged the A side ahead, only for John Ayres to win the next to make it 3-3.

Parsons and Truby were drawn against each other yet again for the decider, with Truby emerging the winner 50-47 Witney C beat Rodney House in yet another shoot-out, Phil Smith winning the all-important seventh leg.

Other significant results saw Oracle B, from Division 3, beat top-flight Riley A 4-1, Riley Vets, from Division 5, trounce Division 3 side Littlemore RBL A 4-0 and East Oxford Con A (Div 4) thrash Thame B (Div 2) 4-0.
