Mellissa Standbridge and Adam Thorn starred in Dolphin B's 4-1 home win against Section 2 rivals Headington Conservative Club in the Johnson Buldbase Oxford League.

Graham Mildenhall put Headington in front, but it was then one-way traffic with Thorn (8,960), Joe Storch (3,890), Paul Butcher and Standbridge, who made a break of 5,900 on the way to compiling 10,610, reeling off the next four games.

Leaders Democrats were made to fight all the way on a tricky table at Shelley Arms for for a 3-2 win.

Martin Coulthard gave Shelley victory in the opener, but then Democrats hit with wins by Richard Garrett and Terry Green.

Alan Durham levelled by beating John Patey 1,670-1,150, but Bob Parsons then won the match for Democrats.

Premier leaders Horse & Harrow opened up a three-point lead after whitewashing Nelson B 5-0.

Maxi McDonnell (10,880, break 9,220), Gary Johnson (12,830, break 11,230), John Scoones (8,150), Paul Lawson (5,030) and Ian Moquet with a brilliant knock of 15,460 including a break of 10,410 were rampant.

Johnson had been Horse & Harrow’s star in their 4-1 win at Dolphin the previous week with an an incredible 25,440 break.

Hard on their heels are Nelson A, who won 4-1 at home to Didcot Conservative Club.

Keith Sheard (12,740, break 9,070), Pete Ewins (6,670) and Mark Trafford (6,920) reeled off the first three games.

Playing against the break, Dave Tooke beat Pauline Withey 9,640-2,390.

Steven Sheard capped Nelson’s victory by scoring 15,090, including a break of 10,310.

Masons B defeated their A side 3-2.

Mick Murphy put the A string in the lead, but Ernie Smith (11,760, break 9,120) and Dave Butt (9,130) hit back for the B side Alan Lowe (6,140) maintained his unbeated record to square the match at 2-2, before Martin Skyrme beat Sid Barrett 5,090- 1,900.

Wallingford C beat Oxford C 4-1 in the Inter Area C team competition final.

Dave Barnes set Wallingford on the way with a 4,930-3,950 victory over Richard Garrett.

Paul Caistor then saw off Billy Hill 4,740-3,340, before Pete Barnes beat Sid Barrett to put Wallingford 3-0 up.

Eddie Tebby pulled one back for Oxford with a 4,530-3,920 win against Jimmy Robson, and then Mick Shephard sealed Wallingford’s triumph by defeating Terry Green 3,730-2,920.
