Nick Christodoulou hit a second-half equaliser as Oxfordshire opened their English Schools’ FA Premier League Under 16 Inter County Trophy campaign with a 2-2 draw against Dorset at Milton United.

Oxon had got off to the perfect start when Sam Parish scored following a corner in the second minute.

But Dorset always looked dangerous, particularly down the left flank, and it was no surprise when they equalised after 20 minutes, and then took the lead ten minutes later.

Oxfordshire changed to a 4-4-2 formation for the second half, and equalised with 15 minutes left when Christodoulou headed home from six yards.

Otman Lamzini had a great chance to win the game, but shot wide after a Matty Clark free-kick rebounded to him off the Dorset keeper.

Oxon are in action again tonight when they take on Hampshire at Totton Sports Ground (7.30pm).

l VALE of White Horse bowed out of the English Schools’ FA Under 13 Trophy with a 2-1 defeat by North Somerset at Milton United.

North Somerset equalised midway through the first half and they added a second after the break to secure victory.

l VALE of White Horse Under 11s’ Southern Counties Cup second-round tie against Portsmouth at Oxford Brookes Westminster Institute of Education was postponed due to fog making travelling conditions from the south coast hazardous.
