VT 4 (Ashford 33, Scales 36, 39, Brewster 43)
Hook Norton 0
A disastrous ten-minute spell, in the first half during which they conceded four goals, condemned Hook Norton to defeat in their second round replay on Saturday.
Apart from this nightmare time, Hooky more than held their own against the leaders of the Wessex League Premier Division.
For the first half hour of the match, Hooky dominated play with Ricky Johnson and Alex Feaver going close Just after this point, the injured home keeper was substituted, and this change by VT seemed to act as a jinx against Hooky.
First Matthew Dixon punched out a cross, but only to the feet of Ryan Ashford who scored.
VT striker Paul Scales netted twice in three minutes before Kevin Brewster made it 4-0.
The home side’s Tyrone Bowers was dismissed for receiving two yellow cards, while Hooky’s Kai Ridley was sent off for using offensive language to an assistant referee.
While the home team took their foot off the pedal, the second half between two ten-a-side teams was generally dominated by Hooky.
