Histon manager Steve Fallon says that his side are confident of victory over Oxford United today – even if the U’s produce a good display.

Histon have won their last six Blue Square Premier matches, and in that time also knocked Swindon Town out of the FA Cup. And they go into today’s clash full of confidence.

Fallon said: “Oxford are in 19th, but they’ve got good players and you think they’ve got to turn it around sooner or later. Hopefully, they won’t put it right in this match.

“But even if they play at their best, I think we can get a result.”

The goal Histon let in during their 3-1 midweek win at Stev-enage was the first they have conceded in nine hours! Oxford boss Darren Patterson may make changes to his line-up, despite the team’s fine FA Cup win in midweek.

With a physical Histon side posing a very different threat to a Dorchester outfit that tried to keep the ball on the ground, the U’s boss may bring in one or two who were on the bench for the 3-1 extra-time victory.

“It’s going to be a very different type of game,” Patterson said. “We want to continue the level of performance, endeavour and commitment, we know we will have to do that.”

Phil Trainer is one who could return. His performances had dipped, but he was excellent when he came on at Dorchester. Oxford United Football in the Community and Oxford Learning United are holding an open day at the Kassam Stadium today (10am-1pm), to inform parents of a new project starting in the New Year.

Every Saturday morning when Oxford are at home, they will be running an IT skills course for parents, based on Oxford United and football.

The children will be coached at the same time.

Any parent attending will be able to enrol on an FA Level 1 course free of charge.

Each family will also receive free tickets for the game.
