Britain's Olympic sailing gold medallists, otherwise known as the ‘three blondes in a boat,’ conducted the official opening of the new artificial sports pitch at St Hugh’s School, Carswell, on Monday.
The triumphant Yngling crew of Sarah Ayton, Sarah Webb and Pippa Wilson, who captured public attention in Beijing, met pupils of the school and showed their Olympic medals.
During a torrrential shower, they cut the ribbon to mark the official opening of the pitch, which is being used daily for coaching as well as for fixtures with other schools.
