Oxford City Stars have a chance to set the record straight when they face Cardiff Devils for the fourth and final time this season at Oxpens on Sunday (6.15pm).

The Welsh side have the upper hand in the series, winning the first two meetings.

But Stars secured a draw against Cardiff last week as well as a win against Brack-nell, under new coach Rich-ard Hargreaves to stay top of Division 1 South.

Stars player Alan Armour says the appointment of Har-greaves led to an improved display .

Armour said: “We as a team know that we were not at our best in the two losses earlier in the season.

“Much of the improvement, I think, is down to a change in attitude of the players with a new coach being in charge. “People are playing for places and trying to impress the new boss which is always good to see.”

Stars are closely followed in the table by second-placed Bracknell, and Cardiff in third.

Armour said: “We know that because this league is so competitive this season.

“There are no undefeated teams. Everyone is dropping points, so it is very important not to panic if a few results don't go our way “I think we have a fantastic team.

“We have the whole package with speed, skill, toughness, youth and experience all combining to provide excellent entertainment while also helping towards winning the league.”

Stars’ only slight concern is assistant captain Lee Feather-stone who faces a late fitness test after picking up a knock last weekend.
