Oxford United will be without Barry Quinn as they attempt to complete the job in the FA Cup against Dorchester Town on Tuesday night.

The U’s travel to the Jewson Stadium in a first-round replay after being held to a goalless draw at the Kassam Stadium ten days ago.

And manager Darren Patterson feels that, although the Blue Square South side now fancy themselves to pull off a shock, his United side will be giving it everything to get through to the second round, where Torquay United await the winners.

But he will have to send his team out minus centre back Quinn, who suffered a recurrence of the ankle injury which has dogged him over the last few weeks.

"Dorchester think they're going to beat us now, but they might be in for a surprise,” said Patterson.

“Billy Turley hardly had anything to do against them in the first match.

“I was relieved at the end of the first game to get a replay because of that disallowed goal, but in truth, we should have won it comfortably.

“We’ve got to hope that we can continue to dominate the way we have been dominating away games. The first goal is going to be very important.”

On the latest injury news, Patterson reported: “Quin-ny’s had a scan and he’s definitely out.

“He’s going to see a specialist. I thought the way he got through on Saturday, considering the pain he was in the last 20 minutes, he did fantastically well.

“Injury-wise we’ve had some nasty ones which keeps disrupting us, and Luke Foster has to be rated very doubtful for this game.

“I may make changes. I’ve got to look at the best partnership to try and get us goals.”

If Foster is ruled out, Matt Day would return to the centre back position alongside Chris Willmott, with James Clarke coming in at right back.

Up front, Patterson may be considering a return to the James Constable-Jamie Guy partnership.

Tonight’s match will go to extra time and penalties if it is deadlocked.

Dorchester suffered their first defeat in a month when they lost 2-0 at Hampton & Richmond on Saturday.

Said boss Shaun Brooks: “We need to get the momentum going again as our performances of late have been very good. We’ve just got to try and lift the players now for the replay.”

Midfielder Wes Fogden is a doubt for Dorchester.
