Banbury Bulls were left to rue missed opportunities as they slumped to a 27-5 defeat at Northampton Old Scouts in Midlands 3 East South.

Playing with the elements, they dominated the first half, but couldn’t take advantage.

Instead they trailed to a James Nimmo penalty.

The third quarter saw Old Scouts run in 24 unanswered points, with tries from Dan Warren (2), Guy Blundell and Nathan Swallow, Nimmo converting two.

Banbury battled on and were eventually rewarded when full back Peter Flemming cut inside to score.
