While the chance of a possible return to Oxford Stadium remains shrouded in uncertainty, the nomadic Oxford Cheetahs take to the track for a final time in 2008 at Swindon’s Abbey Stadium on Saturday (6pm).

The TFSuccess.com Cheetahs are taking part in the 18-heat four-team tournament, taking on hosts Swindon, plus fellow defunct tracks Leicester and Bristol.

Lining up at No 1 for Oxford is Kozza Smith, an Australian in his debut British season, who is scoring freely for King’s Lynn.

Cheetahs boss Nick Andrews said: “The standard will be somewhere between Premier League and Conference League, while Russians Sergei Darkin (riding for Leicester) and Semen Vlasov (Bristol) add an international flavour to the fixture.”

“All our team apart Kozza Smith are former Oxford riders. We will have a competitive side and we will be pushing hard to win this meeting.”

Admission prices are: Adults £10, Concessions £7, Children (12-15) £4, Children (11 and under) free.

Oxford Cheetahs: K Smith, K Hughes, J Courtney, L Smart, B Johnson.
