Oxford City Stars will be out to prove a point when they take on Streatham Redskins at Oxpens Road in Division 1 South on Sunday (6.15pm).

Stars, who are top of the English National League table, won their first meeting this season 5-2, but Streatham were missing players due to suspensions.

And it was claimed in some quarters that the only reason Oxford triumphed was due to Streatham fielding an under-strength side.

But Stars coach Darryl Morvan refutes this.

He said: "It is easy to say we only beat Streatham due to them missing some of their players, but the fact remains their two main offensive threats were playing, as was their starting netminder and the majority of their defence.

"Away games at Streatham have historically been poor for us, and it was a great boost to come away with a win.

"This weekend, in view of the insinuation that Streath- am will have the better of us at full strength, the team are determined to prove that our success was no flash in the pan.

"That is emphasised even more by their determination to prove that last Sunday's draw against Haringey was not an indication that our challenge will start to wane."

Richard Hargreaves, who missed last weekend's game due to work commitments, returns.

However, Nick Oliver remains sidelined with an eye injury.

Morvan added: "Nick Oliver is one of the best face-off men in our league, so he will obviously be missed, but once again Sam Broughton will fill his spot more than adequately.

"Richard Hargreaves returns to join his brother, Mike, and Grant Bailey on a line that worked so well against Peterborough two weeks ago.

"Training this week was up-tempo, and if we can bring the same intensity to the match against Streatham, then I feel they will not be able to keep pace with us."
