Chinnor flanker Angus Neilson has been banned for six weeks after being found guilty of a dangerous tackle.

Neilson cannot play again until November 17 following the 'spear tackle' on Henley Hawks wing Jack Shaylor on September 13.

The Australian, who has played every match for Chinnor in National 3 South this season, heard of his ban at an RFU disciplinary hearing this week.

Chinnor coach Jason Bowers declined to comment on Neilson's suspension, which capped a bad few days for the club.

He has, however, challenged his team to ensure their nightmare finish against Worthing was just a blip.

A shocking end to Saturday's league clash saw Chinnor ship 19 points in six minutes and slip back into the league's bottom three.

Now they need to re-find form and confidence quickly ahead of a tough trip to Richmond.

Bowers said: "Good teams don't go bad over night and we are a good team.

"It is better to get all the rubbish out the way in one match and refocus for the rest of the season.

"There will be other positive turning points to come.

"When we tried to play, we actually looked good at times.

"Even leading 20-13, we were always going to be in a battle."

One piece of positive news for Chinnor is the return of Ben Hewitt, who was one of last season's star players.

Hewitt, who Chinnor largely used as a full back, flew back home on Tuesday after spending five months playing for Eastern Suburbs in Canberra, Australia.

Before he left Hewitt said he wasn't sure if he would come back to Chinnor where he had played since the age of five, but Bowers is happy to have him on board again.

He said: "Ben will be available again in the next ten days or so depending on his registration with the RFU."
