Jack Longford's strike earned Abingdon United a 1-1 draw against Hitchin Town at Northcourt Road in the Conference Youth League.
The match exploded into life two minutes after the break when a mix-up in the Abingdon box presented Cripps with the chance to shoot past Ryan Watt.
But Abingdon were level seven minutes later when Longford played a neat one-two with Dec Hartigan and shot into the far corner.
Abingdon dominated the rest of the half, but were unable to force a winner.
