DES Buckingham expects Will Goodwin to be available for Oxford United’s trip to Burton Albion this weekend.
The 21-year-old striker was taken off at half-time in United’s 2-0 win at Port Vale on March 16, after picking up a knock on the side of his leg.
That game was Goodwin’s first start since signing for the U’s in January, with the knock since ruling him out of United’s two games over Easter.

However, U’s head coach Buckingham anticipates that Goodwin will return when the side visits a Burton team siting just a point and a place above the Sky Bet League One relegation zone.
Buckingham said: “From what I’m told, he should be available. He came through a training session, so I’m fully expecting him to be available for Burton.
“It’s now about making sure he trains well, and then it’s a case of what do we think for that game because if he comes in, someone else has to miss out.
“When you’ve got a fully fit squad, it’s difficult, but I’m fully expecting him to be available for Burton.”
Goodwin signed for United from fellow League One side Cheltenham Town, where he had scored six goals in 16 league games this season.
