BILLY Bodin says he and his Oxford United teammates are not happy with the club’s six-game unbeaten run, as they target more wins than draws.

The U’s haven’t lost since the 3-1 defeat away at Bristol Rovers on January 27, and have won one and drawn five of the subsequent six matches.

United were minutes away from collecting three points at home to Northampton Town in midweek, however Cobblers substitute Tony Springett snatched a stoppage time leveller.

“I know it’s six unbeaten, but we feel like three or four of them we should definitely have won,” said Bodin.

“Certain things have cost us to drop points, whether it be individual mistakes or not being good enough on the day.

“Although it looks good that we’re unbeaten, we’re not happy about it, as we should’ve won a few of them.”

Asked about the belief in the U’s dressing room that promotion can be achieved this season, Bodin responded: “There’s loads of belief. Me and the other senior pros can definitely feel it’s achievable to stay in the play-offs, and that’s everyone’s aim.

“I know we’ve slipped down a bit in the last couple of months, but I definitely think we’re one of the better teams in those play-off spots, and on our day, we’re one of the better teams in the league.

“We just need to put that together and get back to playing how we know we can do. Hopefully that will lead into us wining a lot of games.”

He added: “We had a good start to the season and there wasn’t as many injuries, and then the manager came in and changed a few things, and it’s taken a bit longer than everyone wanted to get into gear.

“The manager wants wingers to be high and wide, and that was something we didn’t really do at the start of the season. I was coming in off the left and then Greg [Leigh] would go high.

“There’s been a lot of tweaks and changes, which sometimes people don’t notice, but it can be quite a big change.

“It feels like it’s gelling a lot more at the moment, and I still feel like there’s a lot more to come as well.”

Discussing his return from an Achilles problem which restricted his minutes in December and January, Bodin said: “It annoyed me a little bit that it would feel alright, and then I’d play, and then have another week off, so I just made sure I had a bit more time off to make sure it was good to go.

“It’s been frustrating but hopefully now I’m back fit, I can stay in the team, or at least if I’m on the bench, come on and try to help the team.”
