Three generations of the same family could be set to represent Banbury United after the club signed 16-year-old Freddie Milner.

If Banbury-born Milner makes an appearance for the senior side, it is believed his family would become only the second in the club's history to be represented by three generations.

The 16-year-old follows his father, Ben Milner, and grandfather, Steve Slaughter, into United's ranks.

Ben Milner became a United player in 2001.

He played for three seasons, starting as a striker before shifting to a defensive player.

He made 95 appearances and scored 23 goals for the Puritans.

Steve Slaughter debuted in 1976/77, playing as a striker.

He made 37 appearances in his debut season, scoring 12 goals.

Across multiple spells, Slaughter made 198 appearances and scored 63 goals for United.

Only the Brocks boast of having three generations play for United; Bernard Brock, his son Kevin, and grandson George all made appearances for the club.

Milner signed for United after his academy position at Oxford United came to a mutual end.

He had previously played as a youth player with Easington Sports and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Milner's addition is the second local signing since the appointment of Kevin Wilson as first team manage following the return of forward Ricky Johnson.
