CAMERON Brannagan is happy to fulfil different roles in the Oxford United midfield, following an action-packed display against Wigan Athletic.

Brannagan played the first half in an advanced position, with Jay Matete and Marcus McGuane acting as the shield in front of the back four.

In the second period, Brannagan and McGuane switched roles, as Brannagan dropped deeper and got on the ball more.

He said: “I started off in there [No 10 role] and then dropped a bit deeper again. I don’t mind doing both, I enjoy doing both to be honest.

“I just want to help the team as much as possible. Wherever they see me playing or want me to play, I’ll do it. Winning is the most important thing.”

On the 4-2 victory, he said: “It’s a great win and a positive, and we want to look forward to Saturday, and get the right result there.

“It wasn’t a great start to be quite honest, and we said that in there when we got in at half-time, but it was the right reaction in the second half.

“We came out and were fantastic in the second half, and we got the goals. The substitutes that came on, I thought they were great.”
